Cross Country competitions
The school team recently took part in the cross country competition in the harriers. Our 3rd and 5th classes in particular performed very well. Mark Milner won the individual race for 5th class. More details and photos to follow....

Gaelic Football
Our boys and girls football teams recently took part in the Offaly Cumann na mBunscoil competitions. While neither team reached the final both teams competed well and everyone is very proud of the efforts by all team and panel members.

Hurling and Camogie
We have a proud tradition of participating and performing well in the boys and girls Cuman na mBunscoil hurling and camogie competitions. The pupils also receive expert coaching from games development coach Ger Keyes.

Swimming
The children from 4th – 6th classes undertake a 6 week programme of swimming lessons at the Aura Leisure Centre every year. A debt of gratitude is owed to the Parents Association who make a major contribution towards the cost of buses to the lessons.

Tag Rugby
Each year for 4 weeks, John Burns coaches the 5th and 6th classes to play Tag Rugby.

Sports Hall Athletics
Our school enjoyed a very successful day at the Sports Hall Athletics event last year. The sports hall athletics programme formed part of our PE programme over a 6 week period either side of out Christmas Holidays, introducing children to a number of enjoyable physical activities such as javelin, squats, triple jump etc. in a fun context. At the schools event in St Mary's Hall, all our children performed really well.
