National Children’s Choir:

Our school is one of four in Offaly to participate in the National Children’s Choir.  Each school gets the same repertoire of 20 songs which are taught

including three-part harmonies.  Ms Sheeran and

Ms. Davis both did a wonderful job in preparing our choir which is made up of 5th and 6th class children.

Recently our 5th and 6th class choir children joined with their counterparts from St. Philomenas,

Ballyboy N.S and Durrow N.S to perform the

repertoire of the National Children’s Choir in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore on May 20th.  The concert was an outstanding success and enjoyed by the large crowd present.

A huge thanks is due to Ms Sheeran and Ms Davis who prepared our choir and to Ms Sheeran who did a superb job conducting the choir on the night.

Eight children from the school were selected to go forward and sing in the National Concert Hall along with those selected from all around the country.

Their performance recently featured on RTE’s

Nationwide Programme.

The National Children's Choir took place last Wednesday night 20th May in the parish church Tullamore.
